This is one of my favorite things to do to Recap the previous year in my new planner.
I usually start with this to appreciate the last years highs and lows and it helps to create memories and fill in gaps between the blank weeks (where I didn’t fill in anything…oops!)
I print this on Staples Shipping Label Paper (or any Letter size sticker paper) Then work on it loose – then stick it over the “intro” pages at the front of the next year.
This pen is AMAZING! I purchased off of Amazon not thinking it would be much more than a simple stylus… BUT was pleasently surprised when I opened it today and used in on my 6th Gen iPad and WOW it is great!
I am using GoodNotes 5 app to write on PDF’s and such. So i orginally wanted an apple pen but couldn’t justify spending that much so like my Fake Apple Earpods I figured there had to be another maker of these little stylus pens.
I posted the link below of the same one I personally purchased. Go Check it out!
My Son had a great time using it as well! Good for all ages and easy to understand.

Ok. I caved. I really loved them. So I got them. Delivered… Yesterday! #happymail So after a couple of months of wanting these pens I broke down and ordered them! They are so LOVELY!
The dual tips are really nice and they are a pastel like appearance and work well over the sharpie pens too.
I use them all the time! They are great for adding that tiny bit of color to any spread without being over bearing in my planner.

CLEANING HOUSE:
“Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers or your can grow weeds”
With the shift in seasons and in our area… the endless winter-slush season… we are stuck feeling overwhelmed, foggy and bogged down. What can we do to brighten your spirits and leave yourself feeling refreshed… Here are some things you can use your planner to help you clean your life, your mind and your body!
Brain Dump:
Ever find your brain filling up and that overwhelming feeling sets in. Make a checklist or write down everything that is on your mind so you can focus on what needs to get done versus what you are stressing about starting. I use my planner as a drop for everything that needs to get done. If I have a thought, I write it on a sticky note and stick it in my planner so I will be able to action it at a later time and then I won’t forget.
Proper Habits
Last month we talked about self-love and making time for yourself and your needs as person. However, your daily habits (whether good or bad) contribute to how you end up feeling. Setting up yourself for success with habits that help you towards your goals and keep you on the right track.
Now when I talk about habits; they can be anything from making your bed to daily morning affirmations. Do what makes you feel good!
Now room for self-improvement is always necessary: curb those bad habits or form new good habits by using a habit tracker* track them monthly or weekly in your planner/Journal
Schedule your household
Trying to get everyone to the right places on time can be tricky in a family household. Take the stress out of your daily routine by planning your week ahead of time or have a schedule or whiteboard posted in a central location so your family can stay connected with whom needs to be where and at what time. This helps keep more level headed when a surprise event comes up and you need to adjust.
By knowing and recording of your household schedules and routines you will have a grasp of what needs to be done without fret.
Forgive and Forget!
Clear your brain. Who are you holding that resentment for? Holding pain and grudges never serves you. Remove the negativity permanently from your thoughts. Clear the air and move on. If you are wronged, it’s their loss and you don’t deserve to have the situation weigh you down.
Start Small:
NOW something to remember…. We all know clearing space or cleaning your thoughts can be overwhelming. Don’t force it. Start with small actionable steps you can take to clear that item.
For example: if your goal is to re-organize the kitchen. You might have a humongous kitchen with tons of drawers and cupboards packed to the brim with appliances and outdated food items. Start with that junk drawer. Then move on to the next drawer start small so you can “WIN” every time 😊

Hello Gouls! Welcome and thank you for attending another fantastic evening building your goals and learning new ways of doing things! This month is about general planning and creating a theme using things you already have, or minimal purchasing.
Theme Planning: Each person’s personal preference is different. Some people will love stickers on every page. Where others will want a simple black pen with crisp lines or maybe bright colored pens everywhere with no rhyme or reason.
This month obviously is Halloween themed. However, how do you choose a theme?
Like I said everyone has their “things” they like. So your inspiration will come from what you want to achieve. Some easy ways to help choose your theme:
– Holidays: This is the easiest way as there is tons of stickers and washi tape that coordinate with each of the holidays. – Colors: This is my next choice for choosing a theme. I choose a washi tape that makes me feel happy for the week then coordinate with stickers and smaller washi tape. – Birthdays or special events: Anything happening in your week that you want to focus on? Going on a special trip? Mark them big and bold so you remember and create some excitement. – Goals & Achievements: Won an award? Got a big promotion? Accomplished not eating sugar for the month? What ever it is….. celebrate it! Your planner is for you to express whatever you wish! It is yours the only person to judge you is you.
Celebrate the small things….. mmm gurl…. I see you being a #goaldigger…. write them down!
What is your favorite theme to do? What is your go to?
MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Prep your DATES LIST for 2018… Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special occasions that need to be copied over to your 2018 planner. This will help you in the transition to the next year. I have included a date planner page I created. 😊 Enjoy!
Welcome to another fantastic evening building your goals and learning new ways of doing things!
This month we are looking at the favorite tools everyone uses to make planning easier, fun and slightly addicting! 😛
These are a list of my favorite MUST HAVES:
Planner – Well of course you will need a planner! Choose one that fits your lifestyle! Always on the go? Maybe opt for a traveler’s notebook style or smaller bullet journal. Love desktop or big monthly fridge calendars? Go for it! My personal favorite is the PASSION PLANNER <3 #PASHFAM
I find it has everything I need for my business and personal life and features goal planning too! I am also a lefty so something that lays flat is always my friend.

Pens & Colored Markers – Depending on your planner the paper might be thinner so you want to test your pens on an unused page before you go doodling and having it bleed through the page. I love my Papermate Flair Pens which come in a wide variety of colors. The Papermate INKJOY ballpoint pens are also awesome! I use a mechanical pencil or FRIXON Eraseable pens through out the week to allow changes in my schedule but then go back over and write with pen.
Sharpie pens tend not to bleed like actual sharpies but if you have a heavy hand then I would stay away from these ones.
Stickers – You can find stickers anywhere! Happy Meals, Sticker Packs at the dollar store. If you stroll down the aisle and get overwhelmed… Pick things that make you happy! Or color coordinate or think of the season and dream from there 🙂 I personally love the Happy Planner stickers because they are easy to find at Micheals and they have tons of variety. And FOIL… I LOVE SPARKLY FOIL! Now you can go crazy on getting all the stickers at once but I like to build my collection from various local stores and etsy shops so you have a good variety.
Washi Tape – Again… don’t go crazy on washi! Haha *Don’t judge me on my horde* I’ve been trying to limit my love for all the washi tape…. Washi Tape is a paper tape that is adorned with sparkles or cute sayings, foils and patterns. I like have various sizes and colors to decorate certain sections in my planner. They are also good for creating bookmarks, paperclips, or tab dividers. Who am I kidding…. Washi tape is everything… so awesome 😛
Magazines& Scrap paper– These are great for creating your dream/goal boards. Adding pizzaz to your weekly layouts. It’s also good to recycle that stack of magazines laying around your bedroom nightstand and give them a new purpose.
Glue & Adhesives – Ok this is going to sounds bad but don’t cheap out on glue! ELMER’S GLUE sucks the big one… Don’t buy anything Elmer’s….
The trick for finding a good glue? 3M (if it has the 3M logo on it… it’s the good stuff) Favorite glue stick right now is the Scotch 3M glue stick. I also like the roller dots or the double sided tape with the fancy dispenser. However, I find those contraptions quite pricey and not as durable as a good old fashioned glue stick so you can make your preference on what you like the best.
Tape – I like scotch tape. I am not too picky on tape however when I am placing in pressed flowers I like to use a really clear packing tape (mine is Canada post brand) to seal those into my pages. (Also good for fixing broken binding on your much loved planner)
Paper Cutter – This is a must if you love straight clean cuts. Saves time in making layouts and cutting pictures.
Paper Clips & Magnetic Bookmarks – I love these to clip notes or tickets to my pages or mark my current weeks/months.
Post-it Notes – I LOVE STICKY NOTES. I seriously should have stock in Post-It’s they are great for reminders, leaving notes or allowing you the move your schedule around within your week without having to make them permanent. These are usually something I don’t cheap out on. The full sticky back ones are probably my favorite. And all those pretty bright colors!
Sticker Binder with Plastic Sheet protectors – This idea I found on the internet so I’m not going to claim it. But it has helped organize my stickers and allow me to find them easier. They get disorganized pretty much each time
Bonus: (these aren’t necessary but these are some planner investment tools)
Instax Camera – I love these little cameras to take on the go for fun trip photos or great for the family member with memory issues. (I like to leave pictures with my grandma when we visit)
Silhouette Cameo 3 – You can cut anything with this beast! I love it. I am still perfecting my custom sticker cutting skills but this machine is awesome!
Polaroid ZIP – I picked this up with my Airmiles points I think it normally retails for about $260 USD but basically you can turn any photo on your phone into a polaroid instantly with no ink cartridges.

Tips & Tricks
Plan your day the afternoon before
This allows for maximum productivity and a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. Didn’t get it all done due to the crazy? Check it off tomorrow! Don’t beat yourself up for things beyond your control. If you have extra time, stick down some stickers and have some fun!
Keep a journal of your daily achievements and challenges
Most of us set our own goals because no one is forcing us to adult… unfortunately… So you have to WRITE IT DOWN! In order to keep focused on what you are working towards. You need to measure something in the past.
Schedule time for checking email (30-90 minutes a day)
I am horrible at this. I check it too often so I am stuck in that trap of endless emails when I should be getting work done. Schedule a couple times a day depending on your frequency of messages. That goes for your facebook too… don’t check it!
Document the habits you’re trying to improve
Habit trackers are great if you are looking to track new habits to get to a goal. (Ex. Meditate Daily) You can buy stickers or just track on simple graph paper.
Don’t try and remember everything
That is what your planner is for! If you need a digital backup 90% of us have this handy thing called a cell phone to keep up constant reminders. (Take some time to schedule normal family duties or reoccurring events/chores to keep the family on top of things) I have a family google calendar that sends notifications for bills or garbage days as I usually don’t have time to document finer things in my planner.
If you want to do it, schedule it
Planning to do something for a while now? Just haven’t got it done? Schedule it. If you don’t put a date on it. Tomorrow never comes. Get it done. Get organized. You are in control.
Want something: set a date!
Automate! Track your time and “trim the fat”
If you were to track everything you did on a 2-week basis. You could figure out how to trim those extra stressful moments or be more efficient at work? Be more present at home?
I have made little improvements to my day to day life that make a huge difference. Such as investing in a Roomba. Labelling where towels, pots and pans and other household items go. So we know if we are running low or where it belongs. This saves time in the grand scheme of things. But without keeping track of my time, I wouldn’t know how to more effectively use my time.
My cellphone turns down my thermostat when I leave the house. IFTTT is a great tool for automation as well. I recommend you give it a try lots of life automations!
